Calabria launches climate change and environmental training initiatives

Various training initiatives focused on climate change and environmental protection have launched in the Calabria region of Italy.

The “C²W² - Climate Change Warning for Workplace” project, funded by INAIL and implemented by the Fondazione Giuseppe Di Vittorio in collaboration with major trade unions (CGIL, CISL, UIL), has begun its first training edition in Calabria. This national project aims to train approximately 2,700 participants in identifying and preventing workplace safety risks associated with climate change. The program consists of 80 regional sessions, each lasting 24 hours.

In a separate initiative, the Club Alpino Italiano (CAI) Calabria organized a two-day training program in the Sila National Park. The sessions, held at the Montescuro Aeronautical Detachment, focused on meteorology, agrometeorology, the climate crisis, and experimental cloud seeding techniques. The program involved 18 operators from the Regional TAM Commission and included contributions from Italian Air Force technicians to enhance environmental protection and scientific knowledge of the territory.
