Calabria launches 'La Mia Estate' voucher scheme for inclusive summer activities

The regional government of Calabria has issued a public call for third‑sector entities, social cooperatives and qualified operators to join the "La Mia Estate" project, which will provide vouchers to families of children and young people with disabilities. The scheme, funded by the National Fund for Social Policies, aims to offer a range of educational, recreational and social‑integration activities during the summer across municipalities such as Crotone, Belvedere Spinello, Cutro, Isola di Capo Rizzuto, Rocca di Neto, San Mauro Marchesato and Scandale. Assessora alle Politiche Sociali Maria Lucia Cosentino highlighted that the initiative is both a service and a concrete affirmation of inclusion for disabled youth.

In Reggio Calabria, municipal councillor Fabio Colella defended the programme’s timetable, stating that the 17 August deadline for accrediting service providers is a strategic advantage rather than a delay. He praised the rapid work of the V Commissione Consiliare and the regional assessor Pasqualina Straface for ensuring the voucher system operates swiftly and gives families full choice of accredited providers.
