Calabria launches professional cinema costume and tailoring course

The Fondazione ANICA Academy ETS and the Fondazione Calabria Film Commission have launched a free professional training course focused on tailoring and costume design for cinema and audiovisual productions. Sponsored by the Associazione Italiana Scenografi Costumisti e Arredatori (ASC), the program is specifically reserved for residents of the Calabria region.

The curriculum combines theoretical knowledge, such as fashion history and script reading, with practical laboratory work. To enhance professional exposure, the program includes seminars with renowned film ateliers including Tirelli, Anna Mode, and Farani, alongside masterclasses with established costume designers.

Starting September 28, the course will be held at the Fondazione Terina in the Benedetto XVI industrial zone in Lamezia Terme. The initiative aims to strengthen the local creative supply chain and meet the technical demands of the film industry. The program is limited to 15 participants aged 18 to 50 who possess tailoring skills.
