Calabria launches regional network for disability rights guarantors

The Calabria Regional Council has presented a project to establish a regional network of municipal guarantors for the rights of persons with disabilities. Presented by Regional Council President Salvatore Cirillo and Regional Guarantor Ernesto Siclari, the initiative aims to provide concrete support and a point of reference for families across the region.

Currently, only eight out of 404 Calabrian municipalities have appointed a guarantor. The project seeks to address this gap by involving all mayors, with a specific focus on small municipalities that often face greater difficulties in accessing support services. The initiative includes awareness campaigns, technical-legal assistance for municipal administrative acts, training, and the integration of new guarantors into the regional network.
