Calabria leaders call for data-driven analysis over political propaganda

Political leaders and experts are calling for a data-driven assessment of the Calabria region to counter what they describe as optimistic political narratives and social media propaganda. An upcoming meeting in Lamezia Terme on September 9 will focus on reconciling political announcements with actual economic and social indicators.

Key issues identified for discussion include the crisis in inland areas, the state of the healthcare system, the lack of development prospects, and differentiated autonomy. Specifically, Pasquale Tridico, an MEP, highlighted healthcare mobility as a critical indicator of regional struggle, noting that many families are forced to seek medical services outside of Calabria due to local systemic deficiencies.

The event will feature political perspectives from Agazio Loiero and an economic analysis by Professor Domenico Cersosimo, who aims to shift the debate from perceptions to verifiable historical data and statistics.
