Calabria leaders discuss economic development and social rights

Political leaders and groups in Calabria are organizing events to discuss economic development and social welfare in Southern Italy.

Nicola Zingaretti, head of the Democratic Party delegation at the European Parliament, will present the “Un nuovo domani” (A New Tomorrow) manifesto in Gioia Tauro. The initiative focuses on the “right to stay” in one's homeland by promoting development through strategic sectors such as the port, agriculture, tourism, and culture. The manifesto aims to rebuild the political community based on ideas regarding work, equality, and justice.

Additionally, the Gruppo Politico Morfeo is hosting a seminar in Montalto Uffugo featuring Pasquale Tridico. The discussion, part of the POL. I. S. cycle, addresses economic growth, social justice, and the challenges facing the Mezzogiorno. The event aims to explore how democratic states can reconcile economic expansion with social protection and the rights of citizens amidst digital transitions and labor market changes.
