Calabria PD supports regional fund for non-resident students and workers

The Democratic Party (PD) circle of Santa Maria has expressed support for a proposal by Liberi e Uguali – PD Catanzaro to establish a regional fund for non-resident Calabrian students and young workers. The initiative aims to mitigate high transportation costs that often prevent individuals living in cities such as Milan, Turin, Bologna, and Rome from returning to Calabria during the Christmas holidays.

Vitaliano Caracciolo, secretary of the 'Politano' PD Circle, described the measure as a battle for social justice and equity. The proposal suggests a system of vouchers and subsidies modulated based on the beneficiaries' ISEE (Equivalent Economic Situation Indicator) to ensure that family reunification is not restricted to those with significant financial means.
