Calabria receives significant funding for agriculture and heritage
The Calabria region has been allocated substantial funds to support both its agricultural sector and the preservation of historical heritage.
In the agricultural sector, over 282 million euros have been disbursed through the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) strategic plan. These funds, managed by the Regional Agency for Agricultural Payments (Arcea), were distributed across various programs, including 111.5 million euros for the 2023-2027 PSP with SIGC and 109.6 million euros from the 2014-2022 mixed program. Additionally, 1.38 million euros have been allocated to support the 2026 beekeeping campaign to improve production and marketing.
Separately, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport has assigned 603,500 euros for the recovery and redevelopment of religious buildings and structures of collective interest. These funds will support seven specific interventions across the provinces of Catanzaro, Vibo Valentia, and Reggio Calabria. Key projects include 110,000 euros for the Madonna del Carmine in Sellia Marina, 100,000 euros for the Church of the Addolorata in Soveria Simeri, and 93,500 euros for the municipal cemetery in Squillace.
