Calabria region advances stabilization for TIS workers

The Calabria region has made progress in resolving the long-standing dispute involving Social Inclusion Trainees (TIS). Following a meeting between regional labor officials and representatives from the CGIL, CISL, and UIL unions, the administration confirmed that administrative processes for contracting have been activated for 1,961 workers. Of these, 1,678 have already been contracted by various municipalities.

Additionally, 1,087 workers over the age of 60 exited the pool last year. However, 673 trainees still require definitive status: 394 are completing GOL training programs, while 279 currently lack support measures. To address this, the Region is seeking an amendment to the national Budget Law to secure an additional 8 million euros from the government to ensure necessary financial coverage.

While unions acknowledged these results as significant, they maintained that the dispute will only be considered closed once every worker has a certain professional perspective.
