Calabria Regional Council approves school inclusion law

The Calabria Regional Council has approved amendments and integrations to Regional Law no. 20 of April 4, 2025. This legislation focuses on educational intervention strategies and the inclusion of students with high cognitive potential and other Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Regional Councilor Pasqualina Straface, the primary architect of the measure, stated that the law aims to harmonize regional regulations with national standards and regional school office directives. The updates are intended to provide more effective responses to the needs of families and schools in Calabria.

Additionally, the council addressed the administration of medication in schools for students with disabilities or chronic pathologies. Further regulations regarding this issue are expected through a forthcoming regional government resolution and a memorandum of understanding with the Regional School Office.
