Calabria regional councilor questions fibromyalgia service implementation

Elisabetta Barbuto, a regional councilor for the Movimento 5 Stelle, has filed a formal inquiry regarding the implementation of regional law no. 8 of March 14, 2024, concerning fibromyalgia in Calabria.

Barbuto is seeking clarification from Regional President and Health Assessor Roberto Occhiuto on the status of multidisciplinary clinics, the activation of a regional registry, and the establishment of specific care pathways (PDTA) for patients. The inquiry also demands accountability for 160,000 euros in state funds allocated by the Ministry of Health to the Calabria region since 2022.

The councilor noted that while the regional law aims to provide social recognition and assistance, citizens are currently facing delays in accessing diagnostic services and uniform care points across the territory.
