Calabria statistical officials appeal for regional hiring

A group of 32 qualified candidates for the position of “Statistical Official” is appealing to the Calabria Region to proceed with hiring from a public competition ranking list. The list, validated by the Ripam Commission on May 15, 2025, was part of a larger recruitment process for 54 permanent roles across various professional profiles, including auditors, IT specialists, and communication experts.

While five winners were initially hired, the group reports that only one replacement has occurred within the Calabria Region due to a resignation. In contrast, the ranking list was utilized by the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies in Rome to fill 12 positions. The candidates noted that 24 individuals declined jobs in Rome specifically to remain in the ranking list in hopes of being hired within their home region.

The candidates expressed concern that the ranking list will expire on May 15, 2027, without being fully utilized, effectively nullifying their successful completion of the competitive selection process.
