Calabria theater scene announces new productions and seasons

The Calabria region is preparing for a series of significant theatrical events. The play ‘Fortunata di Dio’, which depicts the life of the mystic Natuzza Evolo, will return to major stages including the Teatro Cilea in Reggio Calabria on October 31, the Teatro Politeama in Catanzaro on November 3, and the Teatro Comunale in Vibo Valentia on November 5.

Additionally, AMA Calabria has announced its 2026-2027 theatrical season. Presented by artistic director Francescantonio Pollice, the season aims to provide diverse cultural programming ranging from classical and jazz music to circus and contemporary theater. The season is scheduled to run from October to April, beginning on October 23 with a performance by the Orchestra dell’Accademia del Teatro alla Scala.
