Calabria tourism surge showcases Gerace cultural project and coastal destinations

The Italian region of Calabria offers a varied holiday experience, from white sandy beaches and clear waters on the Tyrrhenian coast—such as Tropea, Capo Vaticano, Pizzo and Scilla—to quieter, family‑friendly spots on the Ionian side like Soverato, Roccella Ionica, Isola di Capo Rizzuto and Marina di Sibari. The “Gerace Porta del Sole” project aims to restore religious heritage, create a dispersed hotel network, a spa, a restoration hub, student residences, a panoramic lift and a Repair Café promoting circular economy practices.
