Calabria's PRIMI plan funds road upgrades in Diamante, Gioiosa Ionica and Caulonia

The Calabria regional government has launched the PRIMI (Piano Regionale degli Interventi Micro‑Infrastrutturali) programme, allocating €150,000 to each of three municipalities for road‑safety and minor‑road upgrades.

In Diamante, the €150,000 grant will be used for the rehabilitation of minor roads and safety improvements, as announced by Mayor Achille Ordine. Gioiosa Ionica will apply its funding to the Bernagallo and Santa Nigrilli‑Santa Tecla sections, executing a project ready for immediate construction. Caulonia will spend the whole amount on the “Strada Bandiera” in Palma, repairing potholes, uneven surfaces and damaged curbs to restore safe passage. The regional launch of the PRIMI plan, presented by Vice‑President Filippo Mancuso, aims to channel micro‑infrastructure funds to small towns across Calabria, enhancing local connectivity and resilience to extreme weather events.
