Calabria Wildfire Engulfs Areas Near Diamante and Belvedere Marittimo

A large fire has been burning on the Tyrrhenian coast of Calabria, affecting the hilly area that straddles the municipalities of Diamante and Belvedere Marittimo. Firefighting units, the forest service, volunteers, police, the civil protection agency and the local volunteer fire brigade have been working continuously to contain the blaze and protect the environment.

Tourism assessor Francesco Bartalotta posted on social media, thanking the responders and describing the situation as “hard hours for Calabria.” He praised the dedication of the crews and expressed gratitude from the whole community while monitoring the fire front to limit damage.
