Calais authorities dismantle camp on Route de Coulogne

Authorities in Calais dismantled a camp located on Route de Coulogne on Friday, September 25. The operation followed a decision by the Boulogne-sur-Mer Judicial Court and involved coordinated efforts between state services and partner associations.

A total of 45 people were involved in the intervention. Of these, 37 individuals, including families and people living alone, accepted relocation to departmental reception and situation examination centers (CAES). These centers provide stable housing and social support.

The operation also included cleaning the site, which required the removal of two waste containers. According to the Pas-de-Calais Prefecture, the intervention aimed to reduce health and security risks associated with precarious settlements, combat human smuggling networks, and preserve the living environment for local residents. The process was completed calmly and without incident.
