Calanchi di Atri hosts first civil wedding in nature reserve

The Calanchi di Atri Regional Nature Reserve (WWF Oasis) hosted its first civil wedding ceremony on September 5, 2026. This event marks a new phase for the protected area following its recognition as a 'Casa Comunale' (Communal Home), allowing it to serve as a venue for civil celebrations.

The couple, Daniele and Daniela, have a personal history tied to the landscape. They met at the reserve in August 2023 during a sunset concert. The ceremony was officiated by a mutual friend under an almond tree within the reserve. The couple is part of the folk and soul musical group Lotus Flower, which performs annually at the site to foster connections between art, the community, and the natural environment.
