Caldas da Rainha hosts ‘Cultura Sitiada’ cultural citizenship debates

The Centro Cultural e de Congressos (CCC) in Caldas da Rainha has launched ‘Cultura Sitiada’, a cycle of six debate sessions running through December. The initiative focuses on cultural programming and citizenship, inspired by the ‘Addendum of Youth to the Porto Santo/Caldas da Rainha-Loulé Charter’ presented at UNESCO’s MONDIACULT 2025.

The program aims to provide a platform for young artists, local collectives, and cultural mediators to discuss challenges facing their practices. Participants include master's students from the Escola Superior de Arte e Design (ESAD.CR) and various specialists.

Scheduled topics include inequalities in cultural access, inclusion versus elitism, digital culture and ethical challenges, and the labor conditions of cultural workers.
