Caleb Flynn murder trial begins for former American Idol contestant

The murder trial for Caleb Flynn, a former American Idol contestant, has commenced following his indictment on multiple serious charges. Flynn is accused of the fatal shooting of his wife, Ashley Flynn, 37, at their home in Tipp City, Ohio.

Prosecutors allege that Flynn staged the crime scene to make it appear as though a burglar had broken into the residence. Following a 911 call on February 16, 2026, police bodycam footage reportedly showed Flynn claiming a break-in had occurred.

Flynn faces 11 total counts, including one count of aggravated murder, three counts of murder, two counts of felonious assault, three counts of tampering with evidence, and two counts of intimidation of an attorney, victim, or witness. He has entered a plea of not guilty to all charges. If convicted, he faces the possibility of life in prison without parole.
