New England Patriots tackle Will Campbell faces week-to-week knee injury
New England Patriots left tackle Will Campbell is considered week-to-week after sustaining a knee sprain during the team’s 45-17 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders. While Campbell previously suffered a Grade 3 torn MCL in the same knee, reports indicate he has avoided a major injury this time. Head coach Mike Vrabel stated the team will monitor his progress day by day.
In Campbell’s absence, rookie Caleb Lomu stepped into the starting left tackle role and delivered a strong performance. Lomu played 49 snaps and earned high marks for pass protection, recording a 98.0 efficiency rating according to Pro Football Focus (PFF). Coach Vrabel noted that Lomu settled into the role effectively, anchoring against power rushes and providing stability for quarterback Drake Maye.
In addition to the offensive line concerns, running back TreVeyon Henderson is also expected to miss multiple weeks due to a high-ankle sprain sustained during the same game.
