Caleb Wiley targeted by West Ham on loan from Chelsea

Chelsea is considering another loan move for 21-year-old United States international left-back Caleb Wiley before the upcoming transfer deadline. West Ham United, currently competing in the Championship, has emerged as a primary suitor for the player.

West Ham is seeking defensive reinforcements following the potential departure of El Hadji Malick Diouf to Brentford. The move would provide the club with more experienced cover than academy prospect Ollie Scarles. Wiley, who is under contract with Chelsea until 2030, is looking to rebuild his career after a loan spell at Watford was cut short in early 2026 due to injury.

In addition to West Ham, interest in Wiley has been reported from Derby County and Millwall. The American defender has a market value estimated at approximately €8 million.
