Caleb Williams dismisses Madden Curse as Chicago Bears prepare for 2026 season

Quarterback Caleb Williams became the first Chicago Bears player to appear on the Madden NFL 27 cover. When asked about the notorious Madden curse, he replied, "no more of this Madden curse," emphasizing his confidence.

Williams highlighted his preparation and health focus, noting his rookie‑year statistics of 3,942 passing yards, 27 touchdowns, seven interceptions, plus 388 rushing yards and three scores. He also referenced the Bears' 11‑win NFC North title, playoff victory over the Green Bay Packers, and near upset of the Los Angeles Rams.

Looking ahead to the 2026 season, Williams said the team will "bring a certain energy back to Chicago" and wants to win as many games as possible. The Bears open the season on September 13 against the Carolina Panthers.
