Calenzano announces program for Liberation anniversary celebrations

The municipality of Calenzano has organized a series of events to commemorate the anniversary of the Liberation. The program, running from September 4 to September 13, includes institutional ceremonies, historical readings, theatrical performances, and urban walks.

Key activities include readings from the book ‘Piccole storie nella grande storia’ at the ROC monument, an urban walk led by historian Fabrizio Trallori, and a performance by Tommaso Parenti at the Valibona Memorial. On the anniversary date, September 6, an institutional procession will depart from Piazza Vittorio Veneto, followed by a traditional community dinner. Proceeds from the dinner will be donated to the Fondo Bordoni to support families facing socio-sanitary emergencies.

Additional cultural events include the play ‘Antigone 1945’ at Teatro Manzoni and a documentary screening regarding the 10th Mountain Division of the United States Army at the Linea Gotica Pistoiese association.
