Caleta Olivia declares deputy Jairo Guzmán persona no grata
The local Deliberative Council of Caleta Olivia has unanimously declared national deputy Jairo Guzmán, representing La Libertad Avanza, 'persona no grata' following a confrontation with local pensioners. The conflict arose when representatives from various retiree centers attempted to deliver a petition regarding urgent community demands to Guzmán during a visit to the city.
According to retiree representative José Gómez, the meeting resulted in verbal aggression and discriminatory treatment by the legislator. A central point of contention is the absence of a local agency head for PAMI (National Social Security Administration). Guzmán has publicly stated that appointing a local agency head would be an 'unnecessary expense,' a stance that has raised concerns among residents regarding the potential closure or dismantling of the local delegation.
In response to the lack of institutional solutions, pensioners have initiated a plan of struggle that includes peaceful demonstrations and legislative actions within the local council.
