Mar del Plata hosts 35th edition of Juegos Bonaerenses

The 35th edition of the Juegos Bonaerenses officially commenced in Mar del Plata, bringing together more than 30,000 finalists from 135 municipalities across the Province of Buenos Aires. The event, which runs from October 19 to October 23, follows a record-breaking registration period of 504,000 participants.

Governor Axel Kicillof led the opening ceremony at the Paseo Hermitage, accompanied by Minister of Community Development Andrés Larroque. Kicillof highlighted the provincial government's significant investment of $21 billion pesos to support the event, contrasting the provincial policy with national budget cuts to the sports sector.

The competition features 117 disciplines spread across 66 different venues. The program is designed for diverse groups, including youth, seniors, people with disabilities, and transplant recipients. Activities encompass traditional sports, e-sports, and various cultural expressions such as theater, music, and literature.
