Calgary-area Costco stores defrauded of over $30,000
Two individuals are facing numerous criminal charges following a fraud investigation involving multiple Costco locations in the Calgary area. Police allege that between April 9 and June 30, a 41-year-old woman used fraudulent or altered barcodes with lower prices to purchase high-value electronics, such as televisions, gaming consoles, and computers. A 39-year-old man is alleged to have acted as an accomplice during these transactions.
A recent police search of a residence in the city uncovered items consistent with drug trafficking, including suspected methamphetamine and digital scales, as well as tools used for forgery and fraud, such as credit card scanners and skimming devices. The woman faces 70 charges, while the man faces 119 offences.
