Calgary experiences overnight snow and lingering flurries
Calgary experienced snowfall late Saturday, October 24, 2026, with Environment Canada forecasting continued periods of snow through the early hours of Sunday. Conditions were expected to taper to flurries in the morning, with a high of plus 1 C and a wind chill near minus 9 C.
Temperatures hovering near freezing may cause roads and sidewalks to fluctuate between wet and icy conditions, particularly on bridges, overpasses, and in shaded areas. Drivers are advised to allow extra travel time and monitor road conditions on Highway 2 and routes heading west toward Banff.
Further north, heavier snowfall was reported near Fort McMurray, where accumulations reached between 20 and 30 centimetres.
