Calgary Flames struggle with poor start to 2026-27 season

The Calgary Flames have faced a difficult start to the 2026-27 NHL regular season, recording only one win in their first seven games. Currently sitting in 32nd place, the team holds a .167 points percentage.

Key players have struggled to find consistency. Leading scorer Matt Coronato has recorded four points and a -9 plus-minus, while Joel Farabee has recorded four assists. Goaltending has also been a challenge, with Dustin Wolf posting an 83.4% save percentage through five starts.

As general manager Craig Conroy continues a multi-year rebuilding process, the team's roster remains subject to speculation regarding potential trades. Zach Whitecloud is noted as a highly sought-after veteran asset, though his contract status may influence whether the team moves him during the upcoming trade market.
