Calgary Hosts Opening Round of 2026 FIM World Supercross Championship

The 2026 FIM World Supercross Championship kicked off on Saturday, 8 August 2026, at McMahon Stadium in Calgary, marking the city’s first appearance on the series calendar. The opening round launches a six‑round international season that will travel across North America, Europe, South America, Oceania and Africa.

Reigning SX1 champion Jason Anderson and defending SX2 champion Max Anstie headlined the field, with other top riders such as Cooper Webb, Christian Craig, Cameron McAdoo and Dean Wilson also competing. Tom Covington, Director of Racing for World Supercross, said the event represents “a significant step forward for World Supercross” and highlighted Calgary as a fitting venue to start the campaign.

Points earned in Calgary will shape both the riders’ and teams’ championship battles for the rest of the season, giving early momentum to those who perform well in the Canadian Grand Prix.
