Calgary police search for missing autistic boy Parker Wells
An Alberta Emergency Alert was issued Saturday for Parker Wells, an 11‑year‑old non‑verbal autistic boy who disappeared Thursday afternoon in Calgary's north‑end neighbourhood. He was last seen shirtless, in grey shorts and black noise‑cancelling headphones. Police have found clothing that appears to belong to him and say there is no indication of foul play. The provincial government granted an exemption allowing Calgary police to issue the alert despite the case not meeting standard Amber‑Alert criteria.
In an effort to locate him, officers are playing Disney songs from patrol vehicles, hoping the music will draw his attention. Police have released CCTV footage of Parker and have mobilised up to 120 volunteers to search the area. The family asks anyone who sees him not to approach but to call police immediately.
