Calgary Community Searches for Missing 11‑Year‑Old Boy with Autism

Police are leading a city‑wide search for an 11‑year‑old boy, identified only as Parker, who disappeared from a day‑care centre in north Calgary on July 16, 2026. Parker has autism and is non‑verbal, but officers say he possesses survival skills such as obtaining water from a tap and food from a fridge.

More than 400 tips have been received, and police have urged residents and realtors to check empty homes, believing Parker may be hiding in an unoccupied property. Volunteers, numbering in the hundreds, have scoured backyards, garages, boats and other locations, broadcasting Parker’s favourite Disney songs and leaving Goldfish crackers as bait. Police ask searchers not to approach the boy directly but to keep him in sight and report sightings.

The effort has drawn widespread community support, with a Facebook page reporting about 1,000 participants. Authorities do not suspect foul play and remain hopeful of a safe recovery.
