Calgary's Bow River sees new summer River Hall venue and kayak rental access dispute
The City of Calgary has opened River Hall along the Bow River for the summer, offering a pop‑up space with live music, food vendors, yoga sessions and creative workshops. The venue, built from shipping containers on a former parking lot, will operate through late September and is pet‑friendly.
Separately, the city installed barriers in Haskayne Legacy Park that block vehicle access to a kayak and paddle‑boat rental business operated by Bearspaw Marina. Owner Rick Skauge says the move, part of a three‑year dispute with municipal officials, restricts the rental operation during a period of warm weather.
