Cali authorities impound ambulance used for family trip

Authorities in the Pance sector of southern Cali detained an ambulance being used to transport a family on a leisure trip rather than for medical emergencies. Upon inspection at a transit checkpoint, officials discovered eight family members inside the vehicle, including two minors.

During the stop, the driver tested positive for alcohol, recording a level of grade 1. As a result, the ambulance was impounded and the driver faced legal sanctions. Authorities emphasized that emergency vehicles are strictly for patient transport and must not be used for private family activities.
