Cali earthquake search continues for survivors in collapsed buildings

Rescue operations are underway in Cali, Colombia, following a powerful earthquake that caused widespread destruction, including the collapse of over 50 buildings. The Torres del Limonar building in the Capri district has become a focal point of the tragedy. Rescuers and volunteers are searching through the concrete rubble for survivors, frequently calling for silence to listen for any signs of life from beneath the debris.

Mayor Alejandro Éder has reported at least 95 deaths in the city. Among those feared trapped are the 80-year-old brother and wife of Efraín Gallego. Despite the immense difficulty of the search under intense heat, volunteers and firefighters continue to dig through the remains of the four-story apartment complex, which contained dozens of residential units.
