Cali unveils 2026 Agenda Viva with 40+ events to boost tourism
The city of Cali announced the "Agenda Viva 2026", a programme that will host more than 40 national and international events between June and December, including the Petronio Álvarez Festival, the World Salsa Festival, Agroexpo Cali, the Giro de Rigo, a Smart City Expo and the traditional Feria de Cali. Mayor Alejandro Eder said the agenda is expected to attract visitors from over 50 countries, surpass the three‑million tourists recorded in 2025 and stimulate sectors such as hotels, commerce, gastronomy and the creative industry.
In parallel, the municipal government opened the 2026 call for the "Tejedores de Paz y Cultura Ciudadana" fellowship, offering 200 slots for residents aged 14 and up to receive training in leadership, conflict resolution and project design. Applications close on 9 July 2026.
Cali also welcomed its first capsule hotel, the Peñón House, in the San Fernando neighbourhood, providing compact, digitally locked rooms for solo travellers. Additionally, the historic Barrio Obrero marked its 107th anniversary with a special programme, including a fan zone broadcasting the Colombia‑Portugal match, cultural performances and a micro‑enterprise fair.
