California AG Rob Bonta defends mail-in voting security

California Attorney General Rob Bonta has issued reassurances regarding the security of mail-in voting ahead of the November 3 general election. During a press conference in Sacramento, Bonta stated, “Mail-in voting is safe. Mail-in voting is secure,” emphasizing that the process allows Californians to participate without unnecessary barriers.

Bonta noted that mail-in ballots are currently being distributed across the state's 58 counties and referenced previous legal victories that protected these voting methods. However, his assertions have faced criticism from opponents. Hans von Spakovsky, a senior legal fellow at Advancing American Freedom, challenged the Attorney General's claims, citing concerns over the lack of ID requirements and voter registration accuracy in the state.
