California authorities investigate suspected homicide-suicide of father and two children

Authorities in Mendocino County, California, are investigating a suspected homicide-suicide involving a 44-year-old Colombian man and his two children. The incident occurred on the morning of Friday, October 9, near Ukiah.

Emergency responders were alerted to a situation involving two minors, aged 14 and 7, who were transported via vehicle to meet medical teams. Despite resuscitation efforts, both children were pronounced dead at the scene. Following this, investigators located the father dead at a residence on Old River Road, approximately 13 kilometers south of Ukiah.

Captain Quincy Cromer of the Sheriff's Office stated that preliminary evidence and interviews suggest the father killed his children before taking his own life. The motive remains unknown, and investigators are continuing to interview witnesses and family members. Autopsies have been scheduled to officially determine the causes of death.
