California authorities seize ghost guns and narcotics in separate operations

Law enforcement agencies in California have conducted separate operations resulting in the seizure of illegal firearms, 3D-printed gun components, and narcotics.

In Orange County, North Patrol deputies uncovered ammunition, suspected methamphetamine, and suspected fentanyl during a proactive probation check. The investigation led deputies to a hotel room containing additional weapons, gun parts, and narcotics. Three individuals were arrested on various firearm and narcotics-related charges.

In Monterey County, deputies seized multiple functional handguns, firearm suppressors, high-capacity magazines, and 3D-printed firearm parts during a search of a residence. The investigation, which began with a traffic stop, led to the arrest of Richard Orin Johnson. Authorities recovered unserialized “ghost guns,” firearm conversion kits, and methamphetamine. One of the recovered handguns had been reported stolen to the Palm Springs Police Department.
