California community events and entertainment scheduled for late August

Various community and entertainment events are scheduled across California for late August 2026.

In King City, a free community concert featuring Los Survivors will take place at the Downtown Plaza on August 21. Nearby, the city of Soledad will host a “Know Your Rights” presentation and legal consultation clinic on August 26 at the Soledad Community Center. This event, organized with the Watsonville Law Center and other partners, will offer immigration and family planning resources in multiple languages, including Spanish, Mixtec, Triqui, and Zapotec.

In Monterey, a multimedia presentation regarding the Grateful Dead’s connection to the county is set for August 26. Other regional entertainment includes the 20th annual Music on the Beach series in Kings Beach, jazz performances at The Village At Northstar, and a concert by Skeleton Crewe featuring Rob Barraco and Jay Lane.
