California congressional candidates outline platforms

Candidates for various California congressional districts are outlining their platforms ahead of upcoming elections.

Kirkland, who has experience in finance and the gaming industry, aims to address state challenges regarding agriculture, water, energy, housing, and the cost of living by applying problem-solving mindsets used in the corporate sector.

In San Francisco’s 11th District, candidates Scott Wiener and Connie Chan are addressing concerns regarding executive power. State Senator Scott Wiener has proposed using legislative leverage to block specific budgets, such as those for the Department of Homeland Security, and advocated for laws to ban private prisons and increase the independence of the Department of Justice.
