California economy surpasses $4.5 trillion in production

California has become the first U.S. state to exceed $4.5 trillion in economic production, according to recent data from the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis. Governor Gavin Newsom noted that the state's economy remains the fourth largest in the world.

Since 2019, California's economy has grown by more than 50%. The state's private sector alone has surpassed the $4 trillion mark for the first time. Recent reports indicate that California leads in economic production across nearly all sectors, including agriculture, manufacturing, technology, entertainment, healthcare, and wholesale trade.

In the last year, California's economy grew by nearly $300 billion, which represents the largest dollar increase of any state, surpassing Texas by $76 billion. Additionally, personal income and wages saw significant growth, with total wages increasing by 5.2%, making California a leader in personal income growth this quarter.
