California Gubernatorial Primary Shows Becerra Leading Hilton

A fringe candidate, Barack D. Obama Shaw, also appeared on the ballot after changing his name from Cecil L. Shaw III in 2013. Shaw, who previously received only 0.2% in a mayoral race, announced a bid for the presidency in 2028, stating, “Obama made the impossible possible: someone like me can become president.” His candidacy drew humorous reactions online but did not affect the primary outcomes.
