California highway accidents result in multiple injuries

Two separate multi-vehicle accidents in California resulted in injuries to five people each on Saturday night.

In Adelanto, a four-vehicle crash occurred on Highway 395 at Auburn Street around 9:15 p.m. San Bernardino County Fire reported that two patients sustained critical injuries and two others sustained minor injuries, while the condition of a fifth patient was unknown. All five individuals were able to self-extricate from the vehicles. Three patients were transported to St. Mary’s Hospital in Apple Valley, and two were taken to Victor Valley Global Medical Center in Victorville. One vehicle involved in the collision caught fire.

In Van Nuys, a crash on the southbound 405 Freeway near Victory Boulevard caused two vehicles to fall approximately 200 feet down an embankment near Woodley Park. The California Highway Patrol reported that five people were injured in the incident. Firefighters utilized hydraulic tools to rescue an injured man from an overturned pickup truck. A sedan was also found overturned down the embankment. All five victims were transported to local hospitals by the Los Angeles Fire Department.
