California man arrested for alleged murder of wife

Gurinder Gill, a 28-year-old man of Indian origin, has been arrested and charged with the murder of his wife, 30-year-old Jasmine Gill, in California.

Jasmine Gill was last seen at her Sacramento home on September 30. Following her disappearance, Gurinder Gill allegedly told investigators that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers had taken his wife into custody while she was collecting mail. However, ICE confirmed to detectives that no enforcement operations had occurred at the residence.

Investigators discovered burnt human remains buried in El Dorado County on October 1, which were later identified as Jasmine Gill. The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office noted that the couple was involved in an ongoing divorce and child custody dispute at the time of her disappearance. Gurinder Gill is currently being held at the Sacramento County Main Jail without bail.
