California nurse alleges spike in stillbirths following COVID-19 vaccine rollout
Michelle Spencer, a labor-and-delivery nurse at Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno, California, has alleged a significant increase in stillbirths following the rollout of COVID-19 vaccinations for pregnant women. According to Spencer, the hospital unit previously experienced approximately four stillbirths per year, but saw a spike to 22 stillbirths in a single month after the vaccination rollout began.
Spencer filed a complaint in Fresno County Superior Court on July 30, 2025, regarding these observations. She noted that the hospital responded to the increase in fetal deaths by issuing an email instructing staff on how to handle deceased infants, rather than investigating the cause of the surge.
Additionally, the reports cite an analysis of the National Health Interview Survey suggesting that COVID-vaccinated children showed higher odds of autism, ADHD, anxiety, and special-education use compared to unvaccinated children. The authors of that analysis have recommended halting the use of the shots in children.
