California retiree marries Maasai warrior in Tanzania

Debora Babu, a 60-year-old retired police officer from California, has married Saitoti Babu, a member of the Maasai tribe in Tanzania, who is 30 years her junior.

The relationship began during a family vacation in Tanzania, where Debora met Saitoti while he was selling souvenirs on a beach. Following the trip, Saitoti proposed to her, leading Debora to return to Tanzania to marry him in a traditional Maasai ceremony. Upon marriage, she adopted the Maasai name Nešipai.
