California sanctuary policies criticized following Martinez slaying

Federal border czar Tom Homan has criticized California Governor Gavin Newsom and state sanctuary policies following the death of retiree Todd Stewart in Martinez. Stewart was killed on camera just one day after his alleged killer was released from local custody by a judge appointed by Newsom.

Homan stated that the state’s policies prioritize politics over public safety, claiming that the lack of communication between state and federal authorities regarding the release of undocumented criminals prevents timely apprehension and deportation. The federal government has requested increased cooperation from California law enforcement to facilitate the deportation of violent offenders.
