California schools receive statewide PBIS recognition
Numerous schools across California have received statewide recognition from the California Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Coalition for fostering positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environments.
In Orange County, more than 250 schools from 21 districts were honored for the 2025-26 school year. These recipients included 129 platinum-level, 61 gold-level, 52 silver-level, and 11 bronze-level recognitions. The PBIS framework utilizes evidence-based practices to address students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs through a multi-tiered support system.
Within the Pasadena Unified School District, four schools earned honors. Madison Elementary, John Muir Early College Magnet High School, and Rose City High School achieved platinum-level recognition, while Pasadena High School received gold-level honors. Superintendent Elizabeth Blanco noted that the district prioritizes student wellness as a foundation for academic success, utilizing a proactive, data-driven system to identify and meet student needs early.
