Votes from Tuesday's California statewide primary are still being tallied, with Riverside County only about 20% counted. Secretary of State Shirley Weber emphasized that California law allows up to 30 days to complete the canvass and that accuracy outweighs speed. She noted that certain ballot types are exempt from the June 15 deadline and that final county reports are due by July 3, with statewide certification by July 10. President Donald Trump alleged, without evidence, that the vote‑by‑mail count was fraudulent; his claims were dismissed by officials, and Governor Gavin Newsom called the accusations false.
